Thaw is an AI-driven mental wellness platform that helps people track anxiety, mood, and burnout — framing emotional buildup as frost that gradually melts through guided sessions. This case covers the landing page and dashboard preview design.
Challenge
Mental health apps often lean on one of two extremes: overly clinical language that feels cold and distant, or overly soft, generic wellness visuals that undersell the seriousness of what someone might be going through. The challenge was designing an interface that takes anxiety and burnout seriously — visually and emotionally — while still feeling hopeful rather than heavy.
Solution
A striking hero image — a head encased in melting ice, lit from within — becomes the entire conceptual anchor for the brand: emotional buildup as frost, therapy as the thaw. Oversized, confident typography ("Clarity Begins Here") wraps around the visual rather than sitting beside it, giving the metaphor real weight. Below the fold, a live-feeling dashboard preview surfaces real signals — mood stability, anxiety levels, sleep quality — alongside a specific, named insight ("Work-Related Stress, Cold Spot Detected") that makes the AI feel genuinely perceptive rather than generic. A warm, dark palette with cool blue typography keeps the tone serious without feeling sterile.
