AI Powered Content Management App
About the project
Nexly is a mobile app concept that lets a user generate content for every social platform they run — TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube — through a single AI-powered creation flow. Instead of designing each asset by hand, a user simply tells the AI what to make (a photo, video, post, or reel), picks a category, and optionally describes the tone or direction they want. The AI researches and produces the asset, and the user can publish it directly to their connected platforms from inside the app. Nova also supports multi-user collaboration, so teams can draft, review, schedule, and publish together on one shared timeline.
Problem statement
Creators and small teams managing several social platforms lose most of their time to production, not strategy — reshaping the same idea into six different formats, then juggling separate publishing tools for each platform. Existing content tools either generate assets or manage a publishing calendar, rarely both, which leaves collaboration and status-tracking as an afterthought bolted onto a different app entirely.
Users pain to solve
A team running multiple channels needs to answer three things constantly: What's ready to post? Who's working on what? And can I publish it without leaving this screen? Splitting AI generation, team collaboration, and platform publishing across separate tools forces users to manually track status in their heads — or in a spreadsheet — instead of seeing it in one place.
Design approach
Started by mapping the full content lifecycle — describe, generate, review, schedule, publish — to a single home screen instead of a multi-step wizard. Wireframed the platform selector as a horizontal row of familiar app icons up top, so switching target platforms feels like flipping a toggle, not opening a settings menu. Designed the content folders (Reels, Story) as stacked card previews rather than flat counters, so recent output is visible without opening the library. Iterated on the project cards until each one could carry three pieces of information at a glance — creator, asset preview, and status (Drafted, Scheduled, Published) — using color and icon alone, no extra label text needed.
Key decisions
— Used a horizontal platform-icon row at the top instead of a nested settings screen, so connecting or switching target platforms takes one tap, not a menu dive.— Gave each content card a color-coded status pill (Drafted, Scheduled, Published) so a team can scan project state the same way they'd scan a kanban board, without opening each card.— Attributed every card to a collaborator handle (@sophia, @d.paul, @latham) directly on the card face, making multi-user ownership visible without a separate "assigned to" field.— Anchored a Project / Members / Stage / Timeline tab bar with a connected date strip beneath it, so switching between "what's happening" and "when it's happening" is one tap, not a separate calendar app.
Business growth impact
Collapsing generation, collaboration, and publishing into one flow removes the two biggest drop-off points in content operations: the handoff between "asset is ready" and "asset is scheduled," and the handoff between team members. For a product like Nova, that translates into daily active use — teams open the app to both create and check status — and a natural upsell path from single-user AI generation to paid team seats as collaboration needs grow.
