Shipment dashboard
Design exploration for cargo shipment management platform
About project
FreightFlow — Shipments Dashboard
The Shipments view is designed around the operational reality of a cargo manager's workday: you need to know what's at risk, what's moving, and what's stuck — in under five seconds. The layout answers that by front-loading a financial summary strip at the top, so the moment you land on the page, the total exposure and customs health of your entire month is already visible without scrolling or filtering. Status is communicated through color alone at this level, letting experienced users build a habit of reading the strip like a traffic light.
The overall interaction model is built for scanning, not reading. The three-column grid, consistent card structure, and restrained color palette mean that trained eyes can move across six shipments simultaneously, catching anomalies by pattern recognition rather than line-by-line review. The single high-contrast primary action — the indigo "New Shipment" button — sits isolated in the top-right, ensuring it's always reachable but never competes with the data users are actively monitoring.
